Comments Thread For: Concepcion's Spirits Are High Despite Recent Shock Loss

Trying to comeback from a devastating TKO loss to Juan Manuel Lopez last July, his return bout against Juan Carlos Martinez this past weekend was supposed to be a step back in the right direction, a fight to boost his confidence on his way to getting back into the mix at 126 pounds. Sure enough, on paper the fight figured to be heavily in Concepcion's favor given Martinez's 18-12-1 record and the fact that Bernabe had been in with some quality fighters during his seven-year run. He ain't done yet. He's a decent young fighter. Most of all, pac gots his back so he could be around for awhile.

concepcion had nothing to offer against martinez on that fight. he was the one who looked like a journeyman just trying to collect a paycheck.

He lost his thinking cap somewhere along the way. He was a hot prospect and fights with a sense of urgency, lots of heart 3 years ago. I even went to see his fight against Caro here in San Diego were Manny showed up to support him...

Why interview the loser and not the winner? Shouldn't we be praising the one who actually won the fight? Why keep this dirty fighting bum's name out there?
