A Word About Mosley
At this point, there’s no question that the time has come for Shane Mosley to retire. He landed all of the mega fights he had been after (against Mayweather and Pacquiao) and he wasn’t able to be competitive in either of them. There’s nothing left for him to do and if he hangs around, he’ll just become a stepping stone for guys like Victor Ortiz and Andre Berto. And on a side note, I like Antonio Tarver as a commentator. But during the broadcast of Pacquiao-Mosley, he acted as if he was shocked and dismayed by Shane Mosley’s performance, suggesting that Mosley was unwilling to bite down and dare to be great. I found this to be rather hypocritical, given Tarver’s performances against Chad Dawson, where he appeared dull and disinterested, while being out-hustled by a younger, sharper fighter. But Tarver isn’t the only one who was critical of Mosley’s performance. Many people feel that Mosley ran from Pacquiao and didn’t give it his all. But I feel that those who were disappointed let themselves down by expecting a 39-year-old, who has looked all but shot in his last two fights, to be competitive with the best fighter in the world. In my eyes, Mosley has shown plenty of guts throughout his career. And the only reason he didn’t show that winning spirit against Pacquiao is because he just doesn’t have it anymore.Comment

I agree with most of what you said but in the bold, you need to watch those fights again. Tarver gave it his all in the Dawson fights. And actually in the rematch he tried even harder. Dawson was just too much, stylistically. Tarver did try though. He threw his big left, he tried to win the fight, he just wast was not able.A Word About Mosley

mosley ain't gonna get anymore megafights.
he's gatekeeper status now. he's on undercard fights now. he's a stepping stone for young boxers now.
mosley needs the cash since jinn mosley cleaned him out and he's got another gold-digger on his ****. he probably won't retire.Comment
