Comments Thread For: Marquez Gets Pacquiao Offer, Golden Matching Not Likely

Top Rank has issued a revised offer to Juan Manuel Marquez (52-5-1, 38KOs), which outlines the terms for a fall trilogy meeting with Manny Pacquiao (53-3-2, 38KOs). The grudge match will either take place on November 5 or November 12 in Las Vegas. Golden Boy Promotions, pursuant to the terms of their expired promotional contract with Marquez, have the ability to match the offer presented by Top Rank.

There's probably a clause that states Juan Manuel Marquez can only move forward.

Marquez looked absolutely pathetic in his one performance at Welterweight. He'll be slower and his punches nowhere near as crip as they were against Katsidis. There 's not reason for this fight to not be at 140, damnit.

He'll still give Pacquiao plenty of trouble, though.

I reckon one of the main reasons for not fighting at 140 is there wouldn't be a belt on the line. Unless Marquez were to fight a belt holder before then (but I think he's fighting David Diaz if I'm not mistaken).

Jesus wwe all know that's not gonna happen. Pac has all the leverage and for the 1000th time if Marquez and his team isn't ****** they should not try to bulk marquez up like they did when he fought floyd. Come at your best weight at the weigh in and weigh 144-145 ( his normal weight during fight night )

They should learn from Pac. Since Pac's been at WW he hasn't really tried to make that weight he just comes in at his best weight to not slow himself down. The Margarito fight was the best example.

Besides they're still the same size. i bet they're just gonna be separated by no more than 5 pounds during the fight.
