One thing also, I have been to many fights and most people who actually go and watch do not know shiet about boxing. You will hear them say names of fighters like Barrera as Bemuda and things. Records are wrong etc...

Not all but a lot of people who watch boxing are not fans that have knowledge like you or me. I know you box and respect that anyway.

Oscar, Tyson etc... the fans they had were nto boxing fans, but sports fans. They won't know who SRR is for example.

99% of this site has never boxed managed train coached competed at a top level pro or amateur yet there are so many experts that seem to know what to do when to do it how to do it and why. I bust my ass in the gym and compete and know how hard it is to fight period let alone a top level. and to come here and see a bunch of lazy ass nerd wanna be bert sugars putting down almost every boxer instead of praising the sport being happy about the fights thats happening instead of crying about fantasy fights is sad.

And you wonder why most fighters go for the money and not the fan favorite fights. Because they can see you guys really dont give a ****.
guys like iran barkley homeless and others punch drunk yal dont care. so why not go for the money go for the names? yall critisize fighters who fight the best thats available to them like vic darchinyan sergio martinez for example. yall critisize guys who been fighting since 7 8 years old always in big fights doing what they do like floyd oscar mosley. yall critisize guys who also been fighting for msot their lives putting on big fights bringing the fight to fans all over the world like manny wlad hatton.

its ok to not be a fan of a fighter and fan of another fighter. but whats the point trying to tear a fighter down and wanting to prove yourself right to someones fan? they are a fan o a fighter you re a fan of another leave it at that. when they fight may the best man win.

WHY IS THERE NO RESPECT FOR THE FIGHTERS AND THE SPORT. WHY DO YALL WASTE YOUR TIME IF YOU DONT RESPECT THE FIGHTERS AND THE SPORT? i mean i dont go on nfl boards dissing fat athletes or even talk about boxers i dont like. I dont comment on UFC boards dissing guys who i feel have no skills or whatever. I respect everyone who made it and do whatever they do to survive. im 100% sure this will fall on deaf hears because haters are going to be haters but id love to see you guys who critisize so much go out there lace the gloves up and do better. time for my run i will talk to you guys later. peace and BOXING IS LIFE

I think Top Rank is killing the Sport by handpicking opponents. No offense to Fighters, but seriously did u guys thought Mosley had a chance with Pacquiao?.
I think we need more thrilling matches, like Barrera-Morales, Morales-Pacquiao, Marquez-Pacquiao. Seriously thats the reason why the moved to Showtime, nobody would give a dime to watch Mosley running in circles.

I like how many people are commenting on this thread after only reading the title.

I agree with TS that it's sad that fighters at this level get put down so much. However that is human nature it seems. You'd think in a rough sport like boxing there'd be less b!tches.

The gentlemanly thing to do would be boxing is wonderful, look at Pac for instance a great fighter and ambassador for the sport.

But that would never happen would it? The sad thing is they would find it hard to use Floyd as a reason to love boxing. He dont fight.
why would a floyd fan only use floyd as an example? unless the only person they follow and watch is floyd. your example makes no sense. and this post isnt about floyd or manny its about boxing and every boxer who lace up the gloves. because someone is a fan of floyd or manny doesnt mean they cant be fans of other boxers and moreso fans of the sport

In every country there are only 2 or 3 sports that get most of sports fans.

Boxing isn;t dying because of our disrespect, even it in some ways flourishes because we here are on a boxin site and pay for fights, abut sometimes we get streams.

Still, we are here. It is the people who don't talk boxing that kill it.
noone ever said the sport was dying. it will never die.

You make some very good points.
Another thing I feel that is hurting the sport is after 1 loss or a poor showing, "fans" say how a fighter is exposed or overrate, shot, etc. Its ridiculous and not true at all. Look at some of the old time fighters such as Jersey Joe Walcott and Archie Moore. They had wars and were stopped as well but were certainly not shot afterwards and were still able to fight with the elite. Losses can happen, KO losses as well, it doesn't mean a fighter is finished (although telling them that they are will certainly not help).

ok so manny and floyd doing big in america represents how every other boxer is doing in america? so andre ward vs froch would sell out a stadium in america? bradley vs devon 2 undefeated champions couldnt sell 10,000 tickets. so you tell me if its down or not. what manny and floyd does dont rep the whole sport they are superstars. like oscar and trinidad in their prime.

yeah more disrespect towards the fighters. they wonder why fighters dont want to lose. because when a guy lose they are done washed up shot bums they were overhyped never was anything special in first place lol. **** a guy gets dazed or knocked down oh he has no chin he cant take a punch. its crazy how they are "so much fans of the sport" yet they are so disrespectful towards it and its fighters.
