We should be talkin Arce/Vasquez jr.

My God!! as Manny Steward would say. Is it me or did Arce say "welcome to the league young man". Arce showed the old "I can throw more than you" that I was use to seeing. I give Wilfredo respect for standing in there but I knew he was a 'B' fighter going in. What I didnt think was that Jorge was still a B+ to A- fighter after his most recent fights. Hats off to those two for fight of the night and bring on Darch for another dance. Where Wilfy goes from here....................Gimme your suggestions.

A "b" fighter? Dude, the kid had no am career, started fighting at 21 and had a belt. Not sure how that makes him a "b" fighter, plus he fought whomever they put in front of him. Hey he lasted 12 rds with a straight up veteran of the sport. I think they should've let the fight continue until the end, but that father instinct kicked in

Yup, agree. Only bad thing about having your father in your corner.
I don't know why the heck WV2 chose to stand and trade with arce. still a good fight though.

I agree, I wouldn't call him a B fighter but I can't call him an A fighter either. I think this fight taught him a lot and hopefully the kid comes back and learns from this.

Personally, I dont think that Arce has a chance vs Donaire, he should stay clear of him. I would like to see a fight at super bantam vs Vic though.

              tremendous fight

              absolute classic

it is a shame that the horrific main event has overshadowed a great fight

vasquez jr has the goods. he's unbelievably talented and gutsy

kid's been boxing for only a handful of years, you cant just let him take a beating like that at the end of a hard 12 round fight. good stoppage
he was out on his feet and arce had plenty of time left in the round and plenty of energy to put together a brutal stoppage

arce has some serious options ahead of him as well with his belt at 122

he can fight darchy, agbeko, donaire, vasquez rematch
even gamboa and juanma, should he decide to vacate and look to get a belt at 126

arce's probably going to get into the HOF after that fight

Absolutely brilliant fight! Arce just wasnt going to be denied. I felt a bit sorry for Vazquez jr. though. A fight like this was too early in his short career as it turned out, and I think the guy just needs more fights and to stay active as possible in the next year to eighteen months and get some experience. I dont think he should be pitched back at world title level right away.

Massive respect for Jorge Arce, he fought like a man possesed and as someone above said, has a lot of options and some decent money to be earned before calling it a day.

I hope not.....he's already bulked up for Super Bantam. Gamboa or JunMa would kill him.
