Floyd. But its close. They were the 2 best defensive fighters I've ever seen. Floyd was more defensive minded because he took less risks, he rarely leaves himself open.

spot on man, pernell like larry said generally threw more punches and was more of an action type fighter then floyd, but who isnt? but pernell was still awesome defensively even when opening himself up, so i am gonna take pernell, cause he took more risks and still didnt get hit much

I always give Floyd the edge over Pea, Toney, Winky, Hopkins, etc.... due to the fact that all of those guys only had 1 style and everyone knows what it is but Floyd can switch up his D from fight to fight or even round to round. Everyone knows his shoulder roll but alot of times he comes out with the Winky high guard, sometimes he comes out with his hands out in front of him, and so on

If only we could look up both of their total defensive stats throughout their whole careers.

Whitaker because he could still be just as successfully defensively and be more active where Floyd only gets hit less because he throws less. Pay more time about not getting hit.

Pea was also a Southpaw and I dont care what anyone says. That shish is an advantage. His D still wouldve been top notch but not as good if he were a righty. Guys couldve found him more then
