Pavlik needs to worry about staying active and getting back into the ring as soon as possible. I love Kelly Pavlik but at the moment he isn't ready for Bute or Froch. Not saying he couldn't be down the road but he needs to get back in the ring immediately. Aron Pryor jr just upset Andrade. He could fight either one of those guys. Even Brian Vera! Those seem like good fights to me before he faught an "upper echelon" guy.

          im a huge pavlik fan

but he is NOT ready for any elite fighter at this point, not that froch is elite

because johnson knocks him out in the tournament

pavlik needs a few more fights to tighten up his d, timing and punching

a sharp and active pavlik knocks out froch in 6

You don't work for the WBC by any chance.

Pavlik looked sharp and surprisingly fast in his fight against Lopez. Lopez did what he could to ruin the entertainment factor by holding and smothering Pavlik on the inside. Why not Bute next? Christ some of you people who put Bute on a pedestal are really deranged. Sure Bute's very skilled but what really do we have to measure Bute? Really? Andrade? Magee? Get real. Pavlik has fought on the elite level since KOing the heavily favored Miranda...Can a Bute fan name one opponent he's faced that you would consider elite?

Bute is a reasonable fight though i'd like to see him get in alittle better shape he wasn't forcing himself out of those clinches too quick and Bute maybe not a great fighter has enough movement to give kelly problems and is a mean bodypuncher.

Based on his last performance, he still has much work to do in order to get back half of what he once was, before even considering fighting one of those two.
