Give the oppotunity to Timothy Bradley. This will set up big fights with Bradley and Ortiz, Khan, Berto, and maybe Alexander. This is the new crop of fighters that will be the stars of tomorrow if these OLD promoters handle their business right. I don't think Marquez can be competitive at 147 or 144 against Manny. It would be another dead fight like the Mosley disaster. I want to see exciting fights.Manny should open the doors for these guys the same way Oscar opened it for him. To hell with what Arum says. Manny claims that he wants the people to be happy, so he needs to take it apon himself to make these fights happen. If Arum won't provide these fights, then Manny should retire. That's money Arum will lose. By constantly fighting these type of fights, its killing Manny's reputation and killing the sport.

And Boxing is turning into a company business sports like MMA where you fight for one company like UFC or Strikeforce etc. Arum doesnt mix it with other promotions anymore and boxing cant work like that.

Bad decisions go back to something I've posted before but get little response with: State commissions. They have zero accountability and no incentive to be good.
        a) Thats not an excuse - fighters where just better and Braver back in the day, i think having the Manny PAc - Shane Mosley fight on terrestrial television would do more harm than good

        b) Agreed. The money maker in the equation more often than not get the decision, which is why guys like emmanuel augustus rarely got a decision

Better and braver? Really? You see and read stories all the time throughout history where guys backed out of fights, or quit.

As far as terrestrial TV, if that fight, along with every other major fight was on free TV how would that be bad? No one would be resenting an entire sport because they just spent $65+tax on a turd.

his comments about Ortiz case in point, he's the kid cant speak spanish....he's actually fluent, but is that an excuse to not fight him?

the only way boxing gets new stars are if the existing stars fight the up and comers, why isnt Pac doing this for the good of boxing? he will get paid regardless

Bob if you care about boxing let Pac fight an Ortiz or a Berto or a Bradley or Amir Khan
i hate arum like i hate maypu$$y but not as much. call me a hater. though i wish pac fought tough opponents, i dun tink the names u mention pose any serious trouble to pac. i like pac to fight martinez at light middleweight catchweight (it can be made) or paul williams (i know he was knockout but hes still legit) and of cos maypu$$y.
im beginning to get frustrated wit boxing man and of cos wit pac performance last night giving shane a chance to survive, im looking up at mma websites.

im not even gonna pretend im as much of a historian as you, but certainly they where better. that is undeniable. i do think this generation are not as 'hard' as previous generations

bad for the fighters, certainly, they wouldnt get paid as much. but maybe thats why fighters arent as hard as what they where. a mixture of terrestial and PPV is the future and is fans are not clued up enough to tell the difference between a dud and barnburner, **** um

I agree with that to an extent.

Boxing is just a complete mess of a sport to follow for the masses. Its just completely fragmented and trying to put all the pieces of the puzzle together when its on PPV and Premium Cable is too much for the average viewer. Too many weight classes and way too many belts for each weight class.

On top of all this the American up and coming talent is **** because the American youth looks towards stick and ball sports way over boxing as its much more appealing to participate in(High school sports, College scholarships, lucrative salaries for NBA, MLB, NFL).
