Call it dumb if you want but imagine if there were no "dumb" fighters like that and everyone was a Floyd, Dirrell, Broner pitty pat type ballroom dancer.

I would quit watching boxing if it were not for face forward brawlers.

        Therefore

Am I wrong to have that belief..?

Seriously, you can't be this dumb.

Fighters don't take punches on purpose, some just chose not to quit when hit with a few.

Although Arce got the job done, me and my brother in law, who's ***ish and he's a casual boxing fan, but I would say he knows more than a casual. Well he was laughing at the way Arce fights. No defense whatsoever, blocking with his face, throwing like if he's in a street fight. He was bothered by Arce's style the whole fight, just cracking up at how he fights. He asked why do all Mexican boxers fight like that, and how can you lose to some one like that. I told him, if you lose to some one like that, it's cause you're worse than them. A guy like Hopkins, Mayweather, Pacquiao, prime Jones etc, would not lose to a come forward brawler like that. Although Pacquiao lost to Morales once, but other than that he's really good against come forward brawlers. WV2 is worse than Arce, that's all I can think of.

Throwing more and coming forward gives you chance to land more and with more force behind your shots I figure, even if the way Arce fights gives fighters plenty of chances to land on him too but WV2 is pretty inexperienced still and probably shouldn't have been given a world title which if I remember right he won from Sonosa who is much smaller than him.

He will bounce back I think.

Your friend should watch more boxing. Arce was countering Vasquez all night long, even Tarver mentioned it.

Arce may not be a great boxer but he's not just some guy in a tuff guy contest. He has a amateur background but understood the way to beat vasquez is to lure him into a brawl where he would have the advantage.

Its really as simple as picking the style that is best suited for you. Most Mexicans guys probably wouldnt be popular or making money boxing if they tried to outbox their opponents.

If the style a boxer has is the style that makes him win whether it be slick or brawling, well then more power to him.

....I admire black outside/defensive boxers because thats their style.

but what you have to understand is most Mexican boxers don't just fight for a check like floyd they fight to make their people proud they have a reputation to live up to.

blacks don't fight for other black people or black america.

haven't you noticed they wear a Mexican flag on their shorts when they fight?
thats because they're representing their people , so they feel obligated to make the fight a war.
