THE TRUTH: Pacquiao vs Mayweather IS NOW a 50/50 FIGHT!

Only a few fights ago I definitely favored Mayweather over Pacquiao but after last nights performance against Mosley, I think Pacquiao has gained the defensive skills, the upper body movement and ring discipline to cause Mayweather all sorts of problems.

Pacquiao showed he can be a ring tactician and stick tightly to a game plan. Mosley isn't the fighter he once was but he's still near the same level as to when he fought Mayweather. Pacquiao was always cautious of his power, he implemented continuous and consistent upper body movement that would severely reduce the punch accuracy of any opponent, including Mayweather.

If we consider Pacquiao's power and speed along with the fact that Mayweather, like Mosley, would find it hard to hit Pacquiao accurately because of improved defense, the Mayweather vs Pacquiao fight is now a 50/50 fight in my mind. It won't be the almost one-sided contest that I previously thought it could be. Pacquiao's newly found defensive discipline makes him a very live threat to dethroning Mayweather because he has all the other tools to do it. The only thing missing until now was an excellent defense. Pacquiao NOW has that and if he uses it against Mayweather it could be a game-changer. It's not a Mayweather defense, but it IS still very effective.

This fight has become a 50/50. If Mayweather fought Pacquiao early last year it would have been an easier fight for him IMO.

Anyone else changed their opinion on the fight?

Of course it's gonna happen. It's all build-up and mass promotion to get the public amped up. Pacquiao- Mayweather has to happen, as they are the best fighters right now in boxing. Mayweather is a smart business man who plans carefully and Pacquiao is simply the face of boxing, a man who will fight anyone. Mayweather can box his ass off, but boxing your ass off won't help against a phenom is boxing. Pacquiao by ko.

I agree some people will say he didn't look the same, but he boxed more than in the past, and his defense looked very improved. I think he fought smarter, than Floyd, not rushing in and getting caught. Mayweather got careless and it almost cost him.

Manny stuck to a gameplan, fought cautiously and still knocked Mosley down and hurt him throughout the fight. All while being injured. I think Manny in not his best performance still looked better than Floyd did against Mosley.

I think Floyd realizes how dangerous this fight is and that he can lose and that is why this fight has not yet happened. The " 0 " is too important, and this fight may never happen based on that fact.
