I said a couple of weeks ago that this was shaping up to be the worst year in Puerto Rican boxing history,and I certainly never expected Arce to beat Vazquez - I thought he was done.There's just something about that Mexican style that has that type of affect on Puerto Rican fighters.


Arce showed Calderon how an old fighter should deal with a younger,bigger and fresher fighter.Obviously there are different styles we're talking about here,but Arce was so much slower than Vazquez that,just like Segura's size and strength against Calderon,it should have made the difference.



Perhaps it's time to stick a fork in Puerto Rican boxing.
