It was a combination of Shane being hurt by the punch, and Shane being off balance. If Shane was standing up straight, or against the ropes, he wouldn't have fallen, though he still would have been hurt.

If you put slow motion in the round and not in the replay. You will see that Mosley tripped with Pacquiao's knee. You have to look at the kneesComment

You should watch that Vernon Forrest knockdown. It was a good knockdown on Manny's part but Mosley wasn't as badly hurt as in the Forrest fight.Comment

mosley has admitted he was hurt by that punch, you could clearly see he was badly dazed and he more or less ran the rest of the fight
LAS VEGAS -- After nearly being shut out over the course of Saturday night's unanimous decision loss to eight-division titlist Manny Pacquiao in defense of Pacquiao's WBO welterweight belt, Shane Mosley called Pacquiao, "The pound-for-pound king," and, the "Tougher fighter" between him and six-time titlist Floyd Mayweather.Comment

Pacquiao did all the damage with just 1 punch. Forrest landed several flush shots, and as for Mosley having no legs, again, he kept getting hit by Forrest while he was able to run away from Pacquiao.
People are comparing many hard shots from Forrest to the 1 punch from Pacman.Comment
