This talk about weight classes and catchweights are nonsense!. Here's why.....

Lets take the Margarito vs Pac fight for example.

This fight was a SWW fight which is 148lbs - 154lbs. Now the fight was contracted that neither fighter can weigh in no higher than 150lbs at the weigh in but was able to hydrate to whatever weight afterwards. Now Margarito came into the fight weighing 163lbs which means Pac really faced a full fledged MW. Just because Margarito wasnt able to come in at the SWW limit of 154 does NOT mean he didnt weigh in as a SWW.

Now many Pac haters will say that Pac drained Margarito, but who's fault is it really? The guy who was fighting at his correct weight, or the guy who dehydrates himself in order to cheat the weight class? If anything, the one who got cheated at the scales was Pac being that Margarito manupilated his weight so that he can fight at a smaller weight class while coming into the fight an entire weight class above the weight class that the fight was sanctioned for.

Now i'm just using this fight as an example of how weight classes and catchweights are really bull*****, and why they should go back to same day weigh-ins. If a fighter wants to damn near kill himself in order to cheat the scales and fight at a lesser weight than what he's suppose to be fighting at, then *** it. They know the risks.

I'm tired of hearing "oh such and such weight drained such and such", yet the fighter who was supposeably weight drained came into the fight with a 15lb weight advantage. It just doesnt make sense.

I consider the weight they actually fight at is the actual weightclass. Not the weight a fighter starves and dehydrates himself to make.

We now have an issue with Pac haters criticizing Pac although Marquez is the one who asked for a catchweight. Guys, refer to my opening post and tell me if i'm wrong.....

the majority of fighters kill themselves to make weight everytime, know one says sht till they lose tho

the smart guys are mayweather/hopkins/pacquiao etc, in other words the elite

i have no doubt in my mind the reason chad dawson/jean pascal/jermain taylor have sht stamina is not because they dont run enough, or train enough, it's their weight cutting and weight gaining, they are amatuers in this game, despite having all the talent and tools

It makes perfect sense, the guy killed himself to make the weight and was weaker than he would have been if he could have come in at an higher weight.

He shouldnt have cheated then by trying to manipulate his weight class and just compete at his proper weight class where he doesnt have to dehydrate himself to the point where he's pissing dust.

So that makes it ok because everyone does it? Its unregulated cheating if you ask me. What's the point of fighting at WW if you're opponent can come into the fight as a MW?
