I've been seeing a lot of excellent performances by up-and-coming HWs in recent weeks.
Yesterday, Mike Perez (16-0) was very impressive, stopping two of his three opponents in round one and dominating the third, winning Prizefighter.
Kubrat Pulev (12-0) kept on winning, stopping Derric Rossy in round 5.
Edmund Gerber (15-0) easily KOed Carl Baker in round 1 with a nice punch.
Some days ago, David Price (10-0) KOed American Rafael Butler in round 1 with a powerful straight right.
A few weeks ago, Robert Helenius (15-0) KOed Sam Peter.
And there are other good ones coming up like Denis Boytsov, Vyacheslav Glazkov, Derek Chisora, Tyson Fury, and Ondrej Pala.
Some people whine and complain about the "state of the heavyweight division"
but in reality, there is a LOT of talent there.
However, there is indeed a SERIOUS LACK OF AMERICAN TALENT in the heavyweight division - the best American heavyweight is probably the talented but undersized Eddie Chambers, who really should be a cruiserweight.
But why does it matter so much if the fighters are American or not? Boxing is an international sport nowadays, and the internet enables us to easily follow the sport anywhere in the world.
