so i just watched the pavlik fight and wss really impressed with the ref, he didnt allow holding, if they held, he would slap their glove or break them up. In that fight fight, i thought it was nice to see a ref, who had the right balance.
The whole repetoire of boxing, was allowed to be presented. Really excellent refereeing
fast forward to kenny ballless and the pac-shane fight. Before i get attacked by the pac fans, for being hurt, let me just say, that i had pac as a clear favorite and had a hard time seeing how shane would compete. And as im from denmark, i just wanted to see a good fight, where both fighters was allowed to do their best and showcase their strengths.
Looking at both fighters, there was only on area where shane was and is a superior fighter and thats the inside/clinch game. But even at the slighest hint of a clinch, ive never seen a ref jump in so fast
And what the hell was he thinking with the pac knockdown.
ballless was awful.
the referees in general needs, to be better educated and have a ruleset, which gives the sport much more consistency.
compare this to an andrew ward fight and youŽd think, it was 2 completely different sets of rules.
