Lopez made it an ugly fight by holding and running but Pavlik showed himself to be to one dimensional again. Long lay off but Pavlik used to be able to fight at a higher work rate in his fights against Taylor and earlier fights.

Also- Rick Reeno- tighten up your writing, boss. 170 is light heavyweight, and even if you stretch and call it super middle, it's certainly not "official" and certainly not his debut at that weight (fought at 170 vs. B-Hop).
Either Lopez has a marquee future, or Pavlik is done as an elite fighter, in my opinion.

the one guy is right - pavlik still showed he has trouble with movers. lopez had never tried moving like that before in his career (he's a brawler), and he was able to confuse pavlik at times.
still im not going to write pavlik off yet - give him another shot and see how he does against better competition; lopez is not a bum, though.

very tough comeback fight, and I hope it's not the last tune up he takes before trying to fight an elite 168. He needs to have around 2 more tune ups to get used to the weight and get back into top form without all the pressure. Next fight should be against a guy who will not move on him as much, but tough enough to give him some rounds. After that they should step him up to a guy like Andrade or his former scheduled opponent Brian Vera, someone with some grissle who might make reach down a little.
Overall I liked his performance and he seems to have carried his power up cause those lefts he landed were solid. he definitely looked rusty but that was to be expected.

Anything between 97-93 either way would have been fine with me. **** Houck and CJ Ross are the judges with explaining to do on this one. I gave Pavlik rounds 3, 5, 6, and 10. I'll also spot you 4, 7, and 8. Now I dare you to find the extra round that **** Houck saw, or especially the two that Ross did. They're not there. Lopez CLEARLY won 1, 2, and 9.

I agree with your scoring, Pavlik knew and his people knew it too and they were concerned. The only way I can see the ridiculously wide scores for Pavlik was maybe those judges thought Pavlik carried the rounds with the more damaging punches? But I had Pavlik up by a round but a very close scrap and a very good fight by Lopez.

no way is this guy ranked number one for carl frochs belt he did nothing to suggest he should be top 5 / top 10 even... i think even he knows hes best in the light middle or middlewieght division the guys got no physical advantages in this division where as froch is true super middlewieght id like to see james degale in the ring with pavlik providing he can take big shots which we yet dont know he could outbox pavlik relatively easy would look nice on his resume
