for real...if you know your history ex president Arroyo named them as heroes and gave them a badge bro...in fact till this day the PI is quite irrelevant in the sense of army compared to the rest of the globe..i mean you cant even fight off the NPA in Mindanao...Comment

Spain? No the US bought you....
USA? No they agreed to set you free and handed you over to a puppet democracy...
Japan? Kinda but the US had to save the PI since they were overtaken by Japanese forces...plus the Mickey mouse money came into effect...damn i think i know more PI history than pnoys.Comment

Philippines was colonized and its culture was erased by the Spaniards. The Japanese occupied the Philippines and the nation was saved by the Americans. The Americans gave Philippines independence. It's not that big of deal, our countries are like father and daughter, relax.Comment

The U.S bought us? With their blood maybe, and the spanish only settled because of the heavy casualty and loss we inflicted.Spain? No the US bought you....

They set us free? We're the only link the U.S had to the entire multi billion Asian Market. They may have beat us (obviously massively superior technology and manpower will do that) but we never gave up fighting and we eventually gained our independence- while other countries were selling themselves out to be part of the american pie.
The end result is, we're still here, still going strong and always will be.
There's almost as many Filipinos in America and other countries than there are in the Philippines now- how the **** are you gonna stop us?Last edited by DARKSEID; 05-07-2011, 11:00 AM.Comment

Bro...forget wiki I live in the Philippines and have been living here for some time. I did my research and talked to historians. The Americans did buy you for 20,000,000 dollars in 1898. Plus the Spnish stumbled across your country by accident and decided to settle in search for an alternate ****e route and gold...which they never found gold up until the American colonization. Later when the US bought you the PI had many attempts at rebellion but where easily crushed by the white folks. After the US drained the fertile land they handed you over a contry that had lost its identity...they extracted your culture as did Spain during there rules. During the war with Japan the US fought along with you since you were an ally. ABout the Filipinos taking over...that's nice but thats the problem...the PI makes 330 - 360 billion dollars a year including all income...you need to stay home or atleast go back and create more jobs...instead of trying to settle elsewhere. IDk...just a thought from a person whom admires the true culture and ties it has with my people...The U.S bought us? With their blood maybe, and the spanish only settled because of the heavy casualty and loss we inflicted.
