Hope this doesn't mean HBO willl drop boxing or the sport will drop in more decline.

To be 100% honest while I think that would suck in the short term, for the long term health of the sport it would be a huge boost.

I could see purses declining, promoters actually having to promote, and due to the decrease in costs big fights could return to national TV.

Tell us how sweet this deal is and what are the qualifications or ramifications. Will boxing thrive? This story is like a report about insider trading without any inside data.

I doubt it. What would probably happen is all the big name fighters would just go fight in countries where they can get more money and boxing would slowly die in the USA.

HBO Sports is losing money left and right cuz they sided with Golden Girls Promotons instead of the top dog Top Rank.
