It is depressing watching Ike Ibeabuchi

He could have been one of the greats and would have been wonderful for boxing. I just watched the Bryd fight again and it was very impressive how often Ike landed on one of the quickest heavy weights we have ever seen.

Ike had it all. Great power, good speed, good head movement, and a stone like chin.

Yeah, he definitely would have been great for boxing, he was the real deal. At first I didn't like him because he beat my man Tua, but I've learned to get over it and appreciate him for what he was lol

Yeah, he would have probably faced Lennox in 2000 had it not been for prison. A shame and one of the "we will never knows" of boxing!

He was going to be very good, he was already very good. I dont think he would have beaten Lewis. Lewis was too smart and accurate. The bottom line is that even if he didnt go to prison, he wasnt going to be the same or more productive after the Tua fight. That fight took something from him.

You can argue that he was great in the Byrd fight, with the KO. He was there to be hit, Byrd just didnt have the power to get his respect, allowed Ike to swing for the fences.

I agree but Ike's chin could take it and his style and power might have beaten Lewis. I think Lewis would have had trouble with Ike as he could function in the inside and the outside. Evander Holyfield however, as strange as this seems i think would have loved to fight Ike as Evander could have schooled ike, as he did Rahman.

it would not have been as good as Ike Tua. Tua at that time was far more skilled than Peter.

It just seems that Ike was a flash in the pan, and may not have been able to live up to the expectations.

When does Ike get out of Jail? I know he gained a ton of weight so he likely won't return to the ring (or maybe he will b/c he has no other way to earn money) but does anyone know when he gets out?
