You are aware that adding over 20 pounds of pure muscle to your body will make you punch considerably harder, right?

You think that coming into the ring without having cut weigh as opposed to cutting 15-20 pounds are even remotely similar? The dude wasn't eatin 7000 calories a day before the Barrera fight.

**** outta here with that. There's a big difference between muscle and food/water weight.

I wonder what the posters with the "never quit under any circumstances" mentality have to say about this.

Again, to paraphrase something Arthur Mercante Sr. said, "A fighter, if he's any kind of fighter, will always tell you he's okay and that he can go on. It's your job as a referee to protect that man's life and health."

I'm sure Margarito is as tough and has as much as heart as you could possibly could ask for in a fighter, but Laurence Cole and the corner failed. They are IDIOTS for letting Margarito go on that long. Don't blame Margarito, though. Had he quit they would've chewed his ass out.

                  Laurence Cole ...honestly.

For God's sake, some people are biased as hell. I remember approaching my dad right after the 10th round and shouting, "ĦDeben parar la pelea!" and he just threw his arms up and said, "ĦHombre no! ĦQue siga cogiendo galletas pa' que vea lo que es bueno!"

Translation: "They should really stop the fight!"

Dad: "Hell no! Let him take some punishment so he knows what's good for him!"

                      F outta here with what?

You said he put on 20 pounds of muscle. Well where is it? If he did put on 20 pounds of muscle it should be present "somewhere" shouldn't it? The only difference that I see between those two weigh ins are he had to cut 16 pounds in one, and didn't for the other.

He wasn't eating 7000 calories a day before the Barrera fight because he didn't need to keep the weight on like he does now. He actually had to worry about making weight in his 126 pound days.
