I worked for a boxing promoter for 5 yrs - not Top Rank of Golden Boy, but a top 10 promoter. 30% is not unheard of. Plus the % only apply when a boxer is fighting on another promoter's card. For instance (although would never happen) if golden boy promoted a Pac v. May fight, and Pac's purse was 40 mil, then Arum gets 30% of that - which he's entitled too a generous %.
Otherwise, on all top rank cards, Arum has an agreement to pay Pac 20 mil plus % of PPVs, he has all other expenses for opponent, undercard, etc, and then he takes what's left over. If he promotes great, and it makes a lot, he can make many millions. if the fight does bad, he can make not that much. That's the way it's always been and will continue to be
