I like SSM and have enjoyed watching his fights for yrs , but I will be very surprised if he goes more than eight rounds with Manny . Manny/Roach are too smart to stand and trade with the larger man . Manny will circle him and catch him from odd angles , SSM might get off some good shots but in the end Manny will prevail . Floyd will think this will be an easy fight for him but it will not be . I think a PBF/PAC fight is a toss up , kinda depends on whether Pac can effectively cut off the ring .

and Margarito hadn't been down since Danny Perez many many years ago yet he got knocked out by Shane in 09 so inspite of these guys having granite chins at some point in time against a fighter that can bring it, knock downs and ultimately knock outs will and do happen

so yes it is reasonable to bring it up

Shane has the higher probability of scoring a knockdown in this fight before Pac.
even though Manny's last knockdown was in what...1999?

in fact if you want to play that game Shane has been knocked down more recently than Manny (2002 vs 1999)

I will be very suprised if Shane is put on his back even once. I'm not knocking Pac, and I'm not saying Shane will win. Just saying, Shane never gets put down.
age, being left open more and more, his realization that he needs to open up against Manny, not being able to launch his own attack in his last three fights. People forget that the reason Mayorga was competitive until the end was partially due to Shane's lack of activity.

here is a question for you when was the last time you saw Shane hit flush by a heavy puncher? Margarito didn't land anything of note, Mayorga either and both Mora and Mayweather I wouldn't consider big hitters

Very good arguement, honestly, it really is a good one. And you are right, it has been awhile since I've seen him hit flush by a heavy handed person. Last time I can think of was against Cotto and Mayweather. He took some very very hard straight rights and left hooks from Cotto but never went down. Floyd hit him flush over and over, with clean counters and never went down then either. But, you have a very valid argument because I think my reasoning for saying what I did was because it has been so long since I have seen him hurt or knocked anywhere, especially down. Good call, I like your point!

Mayweather is in no way heavy handed.

he has small brittle hands that are overly protected by the wraps Rafael Garcia does. On top of that he wears Grants which add even more layering to his hands. Lastly, he tends to punch to his target rather than through it which leads to a lot of clean punching but necessarily with the same impact as someone like Shane or Manny both of whom punch through their intended targets.

Cotto was in what Nov 2007? been a long time since Shane has felt anything of note on his chin it will be interesting to see how he reacts to Manny's speed and pop

I was agreeing with you btw...and no Mayweather isn't very heavy handed, but the shots he landed were clean, crisp, and caught him off guard several times. You seem to actually know a great deal about boxing (not being sarcastic, being sincere) so you know even light handed boxers can hurt someone with those types of shots. I still think Shane's chin will take any punch judging on what I saw from Cotto and Floyd....it will be very interesting to see if i'm right...if I'm wrong, I will not make any excuses.

And yes, the Cotto fight was a long time ago, again i was agreeing with you. But, in my opinion, Shane has not deteriorated like people are saying. No, he's not what he was a few years back, but he's very close.

I can see how you may think that, but Mosley is no chump. He's still very fast and can still hit very hard. And the biggest thing he has going, is he can take a punch and give it right back without wavering....I'm not necesarily a fool as much as I am a fan of boxing and it's smaller details that lead to great fights. He may not win, but this will be a fun fight to watch!

I can respect that you seem reasonable form your posts on here. However, the mosley-floyd fight was over after the third round, there was not one bit of action after that round that was exciting in the least. I stopped wathcing lieterally about the 8th round. Now it is a year later and he stuggled with Mora and now we are to beleive he has a "puncher's chance" with Manny. They said the same about Margo's chin and all he did was take a beat down for 12 rounds and it was another yawn fest. I don't mind it unless I have to pay 65 dollars for it. Plus the undercard is pure garbage. I'll catch the replay, which I can already replay in my own mind already. Manny in, combos, out, rinse, repeat. I just want the so calle pound for pound champ to have a fight which the other person actually has a chance to win and not a "puncher's chance" for my 65 dollars. GL to you sir youll hear my words ringing in your head about the third round.
