Ortiz is coming off a loss to Maidana where he was literally beaten into submission and a draw with Peterson. In his one and only fight/win at WW, he tasted the canvas twice against a grossly overrated tomato can killer.

Seriously though, it's an ok fight against a B class fighter (if it's more than just a rumor). It will be completely overshadowed by Pacquiao-Marquez if it pops off in the fall. Plus, neither guy has any real fan base in Dallas, so that could turn into a commercial disaster. But an ok scrap either way if it goes down.

Exactly he is not the monster he is now being made out to be, it was a good performance against Berto but lets be honest.....Ortiz was 1 loss away from being a gatekeeper and is the #3 WW by default more than anything.

THIS Ortiz is more dangerous to fight then the versions of Hatton, Cotto, Oscar, MAB, Clottey, Margarito, Diaz and Morales (yeah he won the first fight, but he was slipping bad at that point) that Pac fought. Only Marquez was a prime fighter, and he dominated both fights. Then chased Pac around the world demanding a third fight. Now Pac will make the old version of Marquez move up so he can beat a slow fat one like Floyd did. Pac fights guys that used to be great, or very good...once they have lost a step...or several...and at a bull**** weight...and coming off a loss...anywho, Ortiz just beat a fast, hard punching fighter in Berto. Hell, that win alone is better then most of Manny's wins. Yeah Manny has fought some great guys, but he fought them all a couple years too late for the fights to matter. Just like Shane. Shane was old the 2nd time he fought Oscar. How many Pac fans can tell me what year that was in without looking it up? Thought so.
