People can say what they like,but the biggest fight at welterweight outside of Pacman-Floyd was either against Berto.If I'm not mistaken Floyd was the #1 welterweight after beating Mosley.But inactivity dropped him to #2.All the while #1 & 2 were being flipflopped Berto was sitting there unchecked with only 2 really credible wins,(Collazo & Quintana),under his belt.Well Ortiz handled that & straight up,Floyd fighting Ortiz is a better matchup right now,than Pacman fighting Mosley.If Floyd wins,he'll be right back at the #1 spot.

But that's if Floyd wins.He's been flatfooted lately,he likes to sit on the ropes.Ortiz was beating the brakes off of the 3rd best welterweight on the ropes.Floyd also doesn't punch that much,if Ortiz gets that big body on Floyd,(inactive)too much,he might just make the fight competitive.Floyd isn't ******,he beat Mosley when he had a lot to offer,if he does sign for Ortiz,it'll be a repeat of that & top Pacman,without ever stepping in the same ring.

I can dig it. I see Ortiz putting up a decent fight and bringing it to Floyd.
He's high on life right now owning the highly coveted WBC strap. He says he knows he can beat Floyd AND Pac. I say more power to him. He deserves his shot.

Mixed feelings about deserving or not but yes he will fight hard. He needs to fight EXACTLY like he did against Berto and go to the damn body for christ's sake.

I likeThis fight for floyd's tuneup. Props to Floyd. HUGE tactical error by Manny not being the one to beat berto down. Now Floyd will sell a gang of tix to cowboy stadium and make damn good ppv money, and grab a belt and beat a higher ranked and better current fighter than manny.

Excellent move by floyd if this goes down. I'm impressed.
