i highly doubt FLoyd will reach 1 mil buys against Ortiz.

Floyd did a little over a mil against JMM and it was his comeback fight. i'd say around 750K buys..

****** is as ****** does. Ortiz is fluent in english and spanish. He lol'ed and arum for saying he can't speak spanish. In an interview with LITT, ortiz said, "if Arum spent just 5 minutes ever talking to me he would know that I am mexican-american and can speak spanish fluently." i'm paraphrasing.

If that the case, he is silly. He should've been taking Spanish lessons for the last few years.

That's good to know. The only thing that can hurt him now is if he quits again in a fight. Mexican love their warriors and aren't too partial to quitters!

It will be hard to sell over 1 million with Ortiz, how many PPV's has he been in? zero.

Floyd is a superstar though, so he can come through like he did with Ricky Hatton. Hatton was previously in no US PPV, and despite this, the fight sold 900k PPVs.

Ortiz-Berto attracted 1.5Mill viewers so Ortiz is an attraction on free TV but so is Donaire and Montiel[1.020Mill viewers for Donaire-Montiel], but what can he do on PPV?

I would be on the safe side and start at 700k-1.3Mill PPVs, for Mayweather-Ortiz. But you know, people predicted Mayweather-Marquez was gonna bomb, and that it will not do more than 500k. The fight sold 1.1Mill PPVs.

Ortiz can speak Spanish he just doesn't speak it around cameras, so people assume he doesn't know how to speak it.

In my neighborhood, I have lived here for 22 years, my whole life, and not everybody knows I speak Spanish, because I don't like speaking it. There are people who assume I do not know how to speak Spanish. There are people who are amazed if I say something in Spanish.

Milly easy. Mexicans are easily fooled. They see Ortiz and the Mexican flag and they think he's some kind of paco.
