I think this particular interview doesn't qualify as "making an appearance prior to the fight". This was an interviewer calling him up while he's driving somewhere and asked him 4-5 questions. That's far from a "spotlight stealing" attempt as the boxingscene author tried to "report" it as. Slanted journalism at it's best!
