Comments Thread For: Rhodes Trainer Confident: Ryan Can Knock Canelo Out!

Trainer Dave Coldwell is confident that Ryan Rhodes is capable of capturing the WBC junior middleweight title when he challenges unbeaten champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez on June 18 in Guadalajara, Mexico. Coldwell is not only confident of victory, he is also confident that his boxer has the necessary tools to close the show with a big knockout.

I do think Rhodes has a decent shot at pulling this out. Hatton could have made the fight a lot more competitive, and more "dangerous" for canelo had he possessed more of a punch. Rhodes, while not a devastating puncher, has good knockout power, and he will actually be a lot closer to Alvarez's size come fight time.

    Alvarez late stoppage.

Rhodes will be the bigger man physically, he was 164 in his last fight i belive, plus he has that whole "old man strength" without being shot or debilitated by age.

This could be a very rough night for Alvarez if Rhodes performs well.

If he moves his feet and dont just stand in front then he has a chance because his movement is slick.

Rhodes has the experience on his side plus his tenacity and body attack. It will be a tough, unforgettable fight. If for noone, then for Canelo!

Im suprised Canelo is actually taking fights with LM now, i mean i know he won a wbc belt and all but fighting an actual LM is a massive step up.
