He told me that his eye damage was initially started from when he fought Ernersto "Baby" Zepeda, which ge took on 1 weeks' notice, but got worse when he fought Contreras, and 2 weeks before he was to fight Miguel Cotto onn the Pac-Marquez card in 2004, he was sent a medical suspension notice.

Cool. I go to the gym where he used to train. Pollo is badass. I used to see him training every now and then and I could see he was a badass professional just from his shadow boxing. I have seen a lot of professionals training but nothing like him. I could tell he was a quality fighter from his shadow boxing, alone. He was very explosive and had a lot of conditioning. He was very powerful, too. Those uppercuts he threw were really nice and tucked into his body. Pollo is a good guy.
