Does anyone think it odd that Cooper said that the hardest hitting fighter he faced was Patterson? Maybe that was a dig at Ali? I would imagine that due to speed and technique, Ali's punches were harder, with the exception of Patterson's leaping left hook, if landed cleanly.

I thought the consensus was that Patterson hit lightly for a HW?

I see Cooper has a W over Karl Mildenberger who took Ali to 12 rounds (single fight), and some other good wins. I didn't know that. He has some wins over guys that outweighed him. By nearly 20 pounds--as did Mildenberger.

Well certainly not the biggest. But his fights with Cleveland WIlliams, Zora Folley and others indicated his speed was so extraordinary that there was plenty of momentum on them.

He almost never went for the full windup hook type punch that may be the most powerful. His punches left him in much better position for more punches and/or for defense. Paid off.

I believe Cooper. Patterson had a very hefty wallop, and in many of the fights he won on pts, he floored his opponent. Other fighters have said basically the same thing. I think that since he was reputed to have had the fastest haevyweight hands, his power punches, if you watch his videps, were usually sudden, perhaps having more effect that way.

Interesting if cooper had fought as a cruiserweight/how about Marciano?

                Thanks.
I'll try and dig out some old news bits. Read about mixtures that would congeal solidly. I recently recalling watching a modern cuts man on TV who placed a yellow piece of what looked like adhesive string into a bad cut. The fight was a Vegas one, saw this on the TV cameras so not sure what the situation was there.

Freddie Brown was a great cuts man back in the day. He sealed some bad ones in major fights.

                  Thanks.
Make sure to see if it was during or after the fight ended. I think after it's over maybe they can use other things?
Or maybe not, due to imminent urine tests?
