BOXING legend Sir Henry Cooper has died, just two days before his 77th birthday.

The former British heavyweight champion, a national treasure, passed away in Oxted, Surrey, at his son's house earlier today.

Sir Henry, who had been awarded an OBE, is best known for his devastating left hook and his famous knockdown of Muhammad Ali, then known as Cassius Clay, in 1963.

He was affectionately known as 'Our Enery.
