atleast the majority of fighters excuses, not to say some were'nt legit, but it's usually apperent in fight night when they are weight drained or somethin.
here's somethin cool i found, people always say toney was completely drained for the jones fight, but seem to forget that toney has been blowing up and losing rapid weight for a long time before jones, there are plenty of articles also before the jones fight where writers are concerned about toney's weight and how he might underperform
yet it is never really brought up because he won those fights, and most in impressive fashion, until he fought jones ofcourse, who makes everyone look bad(reggie johnson a good example, never lost a clear decision until he met jones and lost every round and knockeddown twice)
anyway, here's a quote from an mma fighter(oh no, not mmgay, yea, grow up), his name is Din Thomas.
so with that, maybe we were getting the wrong idea, people will always bring up in caps "AND TONEY NEEDED TO BE HOOKED UP TO I.V!! OMG!", maybe not in caps, but that's usually the kicker of the sentence that is suppossed to strike you with the "omg...maybe he really was completely drained"
your turn, anyone got anymore, excuse exposing statements or somethin?

RachHeartsMMA - Do you think you’ll ever go back to lightweight? (DetroitDrew adds) Or do you see your best chance to return to the UFC being @ 145lbs? (Thorazine adds) do you use an IV bag to re-hydrate and about how many MMA fighters do so? (Judopei adds) What is your walk around weight? Basically asking what do you cut?
DinRight now, Im walking at close to 170lbs. With my style of fighting I don't see me competing at 155lbs. Competing makes more sense for me at 145lbs. With my frame, I am just hard to deal with for guys at that weight. In the past, I have used an IV to rehydrate. Almost every fighter that I know (that cuts more than 15lbs) uses an IV to rehydrate. As far as my cutting process, I always found it best to start my cut at 160lbs. So right now, Im a fat ass.
