"a verbal agreement" lol, Mercer has been a fool for thinking that Kimbo would box against a world champion boxer...

It doesnt matter if your a boxer or a wrestler, you still have to cross train today. The only difference is wrestler have a much easier time getting away with cross training because wrestling translates to MMA much easier.

Below is example is generally what will take place.
Boxing is not limited, MMA Fighters are limited. Randy Couture will never be able to step in the ring. Toney offered him so much money, but Couture feared to much , you know?
You can imagine how hard boxing is compared to MMA:=)

No MMA Fighter can compete with Boxers. Boxing is much more harder than
MMA... So what? Even Streetfighters are succesfull in MMA.
MMA only for bad fighters withou any skill.

edit: wow kimbo slice 33 years old , Roy Mercer 46 hahaha....

The kimbo vs mercer fight was an exhabition match, it was a complete work. Look at Mercer's MMA record it is 1-0 not 1-1

I made a thread like this earlier today about pac in MMA and it got deleted. The mods on this site need to be banned.

James toney does not represent boxing. He was a middleweight counter puncher back in the 90s. He is only 5'9 against randy couture 6'2 and 200+ pounds of pure muscle.

Yes Toney does not representing boxing.
Toney should know that mma fighters can only attack him with a leg dive.
Thats the only one thing a mma fighter can do against boxers.
And every boxer can be able to defend himself against such attacks.

          my 2 cents ::=)

You sound like an MMA fanboy to me. An MMAer standing toe to toe with a boxer will not end well for them. Yes, MMAers have kicks and elbows but they leave themselves wide open for a boxer.

And it wasn't a leg dive, it was simple ankle pick that couture used on toney.

i'd favor a well rounded mma fighter (especially an effective wrestler) in a street fight over a well trained boxer any day

yeah the boxer can knock him out cold
or break his face apart with his bare fists

but more than likely the wrestler will get his hands on the boxer and then it's pretty much a done deal, especially in clothing, and on hard pavement
you can do more than box in a streetfight, wrestling and rounded fighting skills take advantage of that

on your back getting grinded in the pavement is not how you want to spend a saturday night

now if they're going to go out back and "fistfight" like gents (or gypsies ;-) )
with clean breaking / little clinching
no takedowns or fighting on the ground
no kicks to the legs or head or body
basically a bare knuckle boxing match.. then obviously the boxer is winning via knockout within a few rounds, and probably earlier than that

I've been in a lot of street fights and grappling has never beat me. Maybe its because I am naturally more athletic than 99% of the population and I have quick hands. Also the fact that im usually the one to throw the first punch, and if my right hand lands on your jaw you will be on the pavement going into a seizure
