Cortez is really losing it. Completely un necessary to grab at Quillin.

"Referee Joe Cortez managed to become part of the story when his involvement was completely unneccessary, jumping in before realizing his presence wasn't needed."

Say it isn't so!!! Oh no, what a shocker!

When are they going to learn that Joe Cortez is one of the worst of the worst, and stop allowing him to put on his own performances? He takes being the "third party" in this sport to a whole different level.

In this fight, Peter did well and was never stressed. Brinkley kind of walked into that right hand, his legs didn't help him, and neither did Cortez. I'd like to see Peter work his left more, ala Jose Napoles. Don't give a guy a rest, worry him, jab, hook, uppercut, drive him into the right hand, or get him with the left. The more you use it, the better it gets.

He reminds me of trinidad. Pretty much a basic strong fighter. Too flat footed imo. Movement will cause him problems. I will be looking forward to his future though.

That was a good shot he gave Brinkley in the first round. I was shocked he didn't go down in that round.

What on Earth was Cortez doing? Almost jumping in there.

Nothing against Quillin, but I'm still not sold, despite the result. I have never seen Jesse Brinkley look that damn flat in a fight before. Something definitely seemed off. His body looked downright terrible, and he had nothing. It looked like a cool breeze would have toppled him. No that's not Quillin's fault, but he was basically pounding on a dead man walking.
