Toronto's Jo Jo Dan has won his 2nd pro fight and is now 2-0... his 2nd fight was a 4 rd UD but scored 2 knockdowns in the fight. His first fight was a 2nd rd KO.
The reason I follow him is because I went to a fight night in my hometown early in 2004 which was to feature a title defense by Billy "The Kid" Irwin (42-5) but his opponent withdrew and they found some amateur kid from Toronto to fill in last minute in an exhibition match. Of course they wore headgear but I watched in amazement as this kid took "The Kid" to school for 4 rounds, popping him with the jab with frequency. I know it wasn't a true matchup but Irwin has his pride and still got beat handily in my opinion. Jo Jo Dan was pulling things off in the ring you'd never expect from an amateur, remember the old Duran trademark when he was backed up against the ropes and sidestepped a punch and used his opponent's momentum to push him into the ropes and reverse positions? I saw this kid do it to Irwin about 4 times in the fight. I'm going to be following his career because I think he's got a promising future, good reach and excellent skills.
