Acne usually comes up in teenage years, however, adults also face this problem.
Acne has a number of causes.
* overproduction of oil in the skin
* build-up of bacteria.
* irritation of hair follicles by loose skin cells.
* heredity factors.
* hormonal imbalances in the body (this is why teenagers, females just a couple of days before their periods and women during pregnancy get it).
It is no longer thought to be caused by types of food and over cleaning the skin can aggravate it. A few people are sensitive to sugars found in junk food, and this is the only time when any type of food can affect acne. Boys usually have worse acne than girls because of a hormone. Girls actually have a hormone that can help prevent acne.
