    British Buzz!

    By Craig Watt

Sports Network and the British Amateur Boxing Association agreed to promote professional and amatuer boxing this week on the same shows for the next three years in a historic deal for UK boxing. It is expected that Athens Olympics silver medallist Amir Khan will feature in an amateur contest alongside a title defense by WBO 168 pound champion Joe Calzaghe in Manchester in March 2005 in the first of the pro-am series.
    ----------

Joe Calzaghe is rumoured to be a potential future oppoent for Felix "Tito" Trinidad should he decide to move upto 168 pounds in 2005. His father, Felix Trinidad Snr stated this week Calzaghe or Jeff Lacy could be future opponents should he move to 168 pounds. He stated, "If Don King thinks it is the best fight then that's no problem for us."

Thats good news about the pro/ams fights. Hopefuly am fighters will get the funding to develop there talents.

I like the idea of Calzaghe vs Tito, i think Tito can carry that punch up to super middle so it would be very interesting. I have said before that Calzaghe could beat anyone from middle to light heavy but i forgot about Tito, i'm unsure now.

Did they have to be in seperate posts?

Anyway, this would be a great fight, i'd fancy Calzaghe though.
