Fights that would of been Great before the fighters were great

There were a few mouth-watering fights that were talked about but didn't happen due to the promoters wanting the fighters to achieve more first so that the fights would carry more hype due to the fighters being more well-known by then. But most of these fighters were probably at their most impressive physically in their fresher days and the fights themselves would of been more exciting had they just happened.

These are fights that I believe would of set the boxing world alight:

1988 - Michael Nunn Vs. Nigel Benn (IBF 160 title, but who cares?)

1991 - Chris Eubank Vs. Roy Jones (WBO 160 title, but who cares?)

1995 - Marco Antonio Barrera Vs. Naseem Hamed (WBO 118, who cares?)

Benn was much faster back then and very exciting, Nunn was the fastest fighter around at that time. Eubank was incredible Pre-Watson and could of been fighter of the decade. Hamed was the hottest thing around in 1994/95 with his combinations. Benn and Jones had 100% KO ratios.

What others can you think of?

In 1991 Roy Jones was 21 years old and hadn't yet even fought in a scheduled 10 round fight.

    That's just ******.

Jones wanted the fight but Eubank wouldn't do it, I think after seeing Eubank posing and strutting for two mins every round against Canadian Dan Sherry (who Jones beat at the 88 Olympics if I'm not mistaken) and having to deliberarely backwards headbutt Sherry by accident out of frustration (it was an accident, ofcourse, honest! ) Jones felt he could out-work Eubank maybe?

I also know that Jones wanted to fight Terry Norris in 1990 but his Daddy wouldn't let him.

And at 20 and 21 years old, that was a smart move for growing a young and potential super star.

That's like Andre Ward wanting a shot at Taylor or Hopkins.

        Again, outright ******.

Nunn vs. Benn in 88 would of been phenonimal

Benn was outrageously good back then and I honestly, genuinely thought that he was not beatable up until the Logan fight, and I thought the same about Nunn up until the Barkley fight ..

He's not talking about career decisions, he's talking about fights that might have been fun to watch. If you don't think that's worth posting about then fine, but this is the point of the thread, period.

Tyson/Holyfield before lock up or if Mike never got locked up...or Prime Tyson/Lewis when Tyson held a belt and gave it up because he wanted no part of Lennox that is how lennox got his first real belt.If I am wrong don't blast me this happened with Lennox and someone and think it was Tyson but it could have been someone else...let me know if I am incorrect but either way pertaining to the topic at hand htese are fights I think would have been far more exciting had they happened sooner rather than later.

There's nothing "mouth watering" about a 20 year old Roy Jones who doesn't have an 8 rounder under his belt fighting a Eubank who's coming off back to back 12 round wins over Michael Watson.

Mouth watering to Mrs BennEubank here because he would have like to have seen a young Jones thrown at Eubank, but come on.

And Holliter, why do you waste your time talking to me? You've been on ignore since you had that nervous break down when trying to argue with me.

Save it, I can't hear you.
