Freddie Roach Talks How to Counter the Straight Right (Video)

Roach really is a good teacher and trainer.
He makes things real simple and like he said he doesnt force anything on any fighter who wont take it or wont feel comfortable with it.
that wlad bit was very interesting, wlad is not a natural fighter,he doesnt like the risk of getting hit, therefore he wont learn any counter punches like that left hook body shot.He is very limited in what he brings, but what he does he does well, and it works on slow fat mostly talentless nobodies.
Thats his downfall i think when someone like Haye who has speed to take him out,he wont have the minset to deal with it.He also wont bring anything new or unexpected so Haye will know everything wlad will try do and will be able to stop it/take advantage of it/counter it.
Wonder if roach has tried to tweak khans faults like moving back with left a little low,and needing to step down on shots more, maybe throw less but throw harder better picked combinations.Comment

I never seen any fighter throws a str8 right like that. Most time it follows a jab. A guy like Floyd usuallys crouch and shoots up a lead right. Freddie is right he'll never get a fighter toto execute that. Hes never done this his career as boxer, so he's teaching ****ery! It looks good but it's ****ery. Freddie your overrated.Comment

Not exactly a "straight" right, but this technique has been used by a lot of fighters.Comment
