    After my first gumshield/mouthguard

    Preferably from

    sugarrays.co.uk/shop/mouth-guards-gum-shields.html

(sorry - I cant post links yet)

I am unsure what to get though - I am just starting out in amateur boxing.

Please give a reason for your choice - that way I learn more

    Thanks

Get one professionally fitted by a registered dentist.

I used a store bought one and didn't fit it correctly. Unfortunately, it began to grind and erode some of the gum away between my teeth.

It's not really noticeable to other people, but I would prefer the damage not to have happened.

My fitted gumsheild fits perfect, and I have had no problems thus far.

I should have given my budget - I'd like to spend no more than £15 - like I said, I am new to all this, and am not yet ready to spend heaps o' cash

A gumshield fitted by the dentist only costs around £25. Trust me, the extra expense is worth it. It's not worth taking the risk of messing your teeth up just to save £10.

A cheap one will be fine over a short period if you fit it correctly, but in the long term, it's better to be safe than sorry.
