In the Hopkins fight, we discovered that Trinidad likes his hands wrapped like cement. No wonder Joppy felt like he was hit by a brick.
Did anyone add Foreman-Lyle yet? What a great slugfest. It's the heavyweight version of Hagler-Hearns.
These bull**** comments will never stop. Kid, when will you and the others realize that the handwrap stuff was all bull? Go and read to find out that it was a psychological tactic by Hopkins.
i hate to say this but
DLH Vs Chavez should be there
No, it shouldn't.
Chavez, as seen on a camera close-up...had entered the bout with an existing cut. Not a little one, either.
Oscar opened the cut up in the first minute with nothing more than a flicking jab.
From there, Chavez bled like a stuck pig. Oscar would have won, anyway, considering Chavez's best days were behind him.
This was one of the reasons I began to root against Oscar. I did not see the fight happen.. I read about it, saw it a week later. In between, I heard all about this "devastating" performnce by Oscar. It was more tainted than devastating. I knew then that the media was determined to make a legend out of him.

i have never liked DLH
i think his worst mistake was thinking that he was going to win over the mexican fans battering an already old Chavez, then by beating a PR great but quitting and loosing a close decition.
Foreman-Lyle didn't feature a dominant performance by the winner.
That's what the topic is seeking- dominant, eye-opening performances.
No, the thread started "Think of 5 devastating performances by premier fighters. I mean fights that would impress those who are not fans because the winner of the fight was a beast that night."
Nothing there about being dominant or eye opening, just a great fight. Foreman was a beast that night and even the casual fan had to be excited. Language is a wonderful thing, use it wisely.

Ask Joppy or Vargas if getting hit by a brick wrapped hand was only 'psychological'.

You are so wrong here, buddy.
Foreman came away from that fighting looking more vulnerable & questionable than he ever had before.
Totally opposite of what the topic is alluding to.
How come everyone else listed fights that were dominant performances, & not you ?
You're just gonna try & turn this into a "great fights" topic, which has been covered a million times in this forum.
