These nationalistic fanatical fans should be paying attention to the fight instead of just what Lopez does. If you look closely at the fight, the ref was close to stopping the fight several times before the 8th. He then just had enough to finally do it in the 8th. No bullshit stoppage. People just don't know how to take a loss.

it was a fair stoppage imo...the riot was bound to happen though, a mexican stopping a puerto rican in puerto rico...doesn't sound like it'll end well.

I've been in several disturbances at the fights, a few times at the Olympic Auditorium and a really bad one, that I remember, at the Sports Arena in L.A. Ruben Olivares got knocked out by a Columbian that night, but things were ugly before the main event. Some woman jumped into the ring, between rounds in one of the prelims, and disrobed. She was buck nekid when a drunk out of the crowd rushed the ring, and a security guard wailed on him with a night stick. That set the tone for several mini riots before the really big riot after the main event. They ripped up rows of seats and threw them at the cops, along with a lot of other things; there were fires set and beer flying. I got out as well as I could, maybe pushing a little, but I got out.

I wouldn't call it a riot. People were pissed even though I agreed with the stoppage because of how hurt JuanMa was over the 3 final rounds.

I have seen much worse........that definitely wasn't a riot.
