I'm still baffled as to the disturbingly blatant corruption of the WBC by still awarding the title to him even though he didn't make weight in his own weight stipulation!

I have never heard of someone being given the title after failing to make weight.

Boxing is truly getting worse and worse. Any semi-popular fighter these day are literally being given belts. At least it was hidden or disguised in a good, hard fight between some top fighters ten years ago. That was bad enough but now, if it involves money and the possibility of a good prospect, a fighter will just be shoved in at number one (even if never having fought a ranked fighter or even fought/won a ranked fight in the division before) without winning any fight or just plain get given a title.

I don't even know why they bother with fights anymore. They should just start promoting fighters and whoever is most popular gets given a title. Boxing can become a pure imagine thing. Whoever gets the most votes gets the title. No more fighting at all.

I still can't believe the WBC had the audacity to gift that belt to Canelo, stripping Martinez, then gifting it to Manny then gifting it to Canelo. Their **** stinks the worst.
