Funny stuff... Maidana better hope he never gets in another ring with Ortiz though. That ship has sailed, and he'd catch a horrible beating at this point.

I respect Victor for his performance last weekend, but I'm suprised to see so many people here throwing in so hard with the dude after one good performance. Not only did he look like like pure **** against Peterson, but it also seemed like he didn't care if he even won that fight. As for Berto, the Haitian got gun-shy every time he got touched, not to mention spending half the fight with his back to the ropes. That isn't happening with Maidana. Chino will be pressuring Ortiz from pillar to post, unlike the spotty Berto. People can say Maidana is one dimensional, and that Morales exposed him, but he held firm against one of boxing's most talented youngsters, and a true ATG. I hope the rematch gets made soon 'cuz if Victor is the goods, he'll never convince a huge portion of the boxing community without erasing the "quitter" stain he left in his pants against Maidana.

Thats fucking hilarious. I like both fighters. maidana is a beast though. I think Ortiz may be to big at this point, unless Maidana moves up to 147 and gains the same sort of size.

Lets all pray that English doesn't turn into that someday.

But after the Berto fight it reinforced my opinion that he can't handle a fighter like Maidana.
Wow, what did you see man ?

That fight totally reinforced my opinion that the Maidana fight was an abberation, a learning curve..... and it pretty much confirmed to me that Vic had turned the corner and that type of situation will never occur again.

Also, it confirmed to me that Vic is a welter, not a JWW.

Exactly what happened, that left you with your impression ?

Now here's a boxing fan I can respect. That's thinking objectively. Most of these people commenting on how Ortiz will destroy Maidana base their opinion on a fighter's last fight. Ortiz looked strong as heck against Berto, nothing like the person who quit against Maidana. But one fight does not make a man, especially after quitting a few fights ago. Makes me wonder how he will react were he to face that kind of pressure again.

I agree, Maidana had nothing to do with that personally.

I bet he thought it was hella funny though, what a classic.
