Ricardo Torres is 28-0 with 26 KO's. However his record shows that most of his fights have taken place in Colombia mostly against guys that have losing records. With respect to the past between both of you have had (they fought in the amateurs), do you feel that his record may be inflated?
I feel that every boxer starts out with a record like that. But you have to be able to distinguish at what point to take a step up in opposition. As your career improves, your opponents should as well. If Ricardo Torres' team hasn't done that by now, he is going to have some big problems come next Saturday
What kind of opponents are you looking to fight in the future so you can show all facets of your repertoire?
Hopefully good opponents. I know the public wants the good fights. They want the fights with Ricky Hatton, they want the fights with Floyd Mayweather, Jr. All of those fights are in the rear view mirror, they are very close to happening. We just have to wait for our own promotional companies to be in agreement that we meet in the squared circle. Once that happens that fight will go down.
