Comments Thread For: Juanma Lopez: I Learned A lot From The Salido Loss

Former WBO featherweight champion Juan Manuel Lopez is learning from the first loss of his career. He feels the loss will make him a much better fighter. Last weekend in Nayamon, Puerto Rico, Lopez was stopped in eight rounds by Orlando Salido of Mexico. The biggest problem for Juanma in the fight was a lack of speed. He told his corner that his hands felt slow and he couldn't get his legs going, but he's not sure why that happened.

Salido is fast enough to drop Gamboa when he's outa shape. Gamboa has faster reflexes than Juanma= Juanma gets clocked all night by an in shape Salido.

"Rather slow" is a big understatement.

He was also reaching while dropping his hands.

He needs to learn to fight to win.

                Not fight to knockout.

That is a damn good post, because that was Juanma's problem in that fight.

You also made a great point a few days ago, I can't remember what thread now..... if I didn't know better, I would think that maybe you had laced em up once or twice.
