So I just watched the fight and I give HUGE props to Ortiz and Berto for putting up a great show. During round 7 though, I heard the quote of the night from Larry Merchant who said something like "This is what you get from two young, ambitious fighters who want to be great men". Morales, even though considered over the hill, still has the ambition to be the first Mexican to win the elusive 4th divisional title and he showed us what ambition can do in the Maidana fight.
What I'm saying is the top pound-for-pound fighters have to re-discover some kind of ambition and stop being divas in the process. They are fighters, not drama queens.
Mad props to Berto and Ortiz. Great fight.
