Wrapping the tape around the wrists even higher and making it go beyond the wrist towards the lower hand. This forces the pad in the gloves to be tighter against the gloves and can help a boxer's punches.

I assume they wouldn't do it if there weren't any advantages. Pulling that padding real tight and as close as possible to the wraps sounds like it could be advantageous to me. With Reyes even more so Cause I'm pretty sure that they dont use foam type padding and the padding can really shift etc.

Wouldn't it also increase the chances of injuring your hand during a fight?

Ya i know but i taught i saw somewhere the commissions are against yet i see Pac and Cotto doing it and few more fighters.Surely something as noticeable as that should be cut out by the commissions if it gives a fighter a punching advantage
