Stop trying to justify Dan's score, it was pathetic and he should be ashamed of himself.

    Dan Rafael
    (12:24 PM)

'm not justifying anything because I don't need to. I answered the question. I scored it how I scored it and if you don't like it that's fine. But I am not ashamed of it at all.

I sat right near the 3 press rows and the 3rd row was screaming and swearing the ENTIRE FIGHT and openly cheering for Ortiz to win. It was a joke. I thought journalists were supposed to be typing and working like you and Mannix and Obermayer. Instead these guys were jumping up and down.

Unfortunately, a lot of press rows are filled with folks who are not legit. In my row, with pros like Mannix, Tim Smith, Ron Borges, George Willis, Steve Fargood, it is not that way at all.

I read that there wasn't a rematch clause if Ortiz beat Berto but Lou DiBella had a two fight option on Ortiz. Is that true and if so can you explain what that means?
          Dan Rafael
          (12:27 PM)

There is no rematch clause, but DiBella has options on Ortiz's next three fights in which he shares financially (20 percent per fight). In other words, DiBella will earn money on Ortiz's next three bouts.

            Dear Fat Stinky Dan

if you weren't trying to justify then why use known media guys as a way to um JUSTIFY that other people had it for Berto?

the guy defends his score then pretends like he don't care?

            yawn

DiBella gets a cut of Ortiz, also gets a cut, Uncle Sam gets his cut, Golden Boy gets their's, as does Ortiz' former trainer....jeez...poor Ortiz cant be making much.

Lou's piece simply reduces GB's percentage over the course of the options, so Ortiz is not losing anything.

I don't believe that for a second why would GBP lessen their take on Vic just to get him a title? and for three fights no less?

he loses GBO simply drops him from their roster

he wins well they have a welterweight champ

                  makes no sense

Dan, I was one of those 3rd row, online blogger journalists at the Berto-Ortiz fight, only I actually work and pushed live content to my website. I have to agree with that poster. There are some "journalists" there who use the credential to sit up close. They were obviously drunk and they were going NUTS for Ortiz. I couldn't focus because they were cussing like crazy and pounding the table.

I hear ya and I was certainly not trying to say that everyone besides the guys I was with was unprofessional. I know most of the guys on press row are there to work. Some aren't and should be held accountable.

                      Sounds like complete BS.
