I don't think he has much of a chance of doing so, but assuming he does: what does that do for his legacy? I ask because in my opinion, a massive upset of the P4P king at his age has to elevate him to another level.
So lets say Mosley beats Pacquiao

but as to his ATG status, it is lacking because he has lost to a lot of great fighters like forrest, winky, and wifebeater.
So mosley is in a deficit, but beating pac won't get him out of it imho. he's gonna have to beat wifebeater in a remach to break even imho. and if he really dares to be great, he'll beat cotto in a rematch at 154 lbs and beat martinez for the MW title, then he'll be a contender for ATG top 25 status (given his age). -
There's nothing out there for Shane by beating Pacquiao.
The only possibility I see of Mosley beating Pacquiao is him landing an apocalyptic right hand bomb that separates Manny from his senses. Shane is not going to win a decision over Pacquiao, he's just not.
So, what's gonna' happen? People will give him credit, but it's not like they'll suddenly be all over him because of his skills. After the dust settles, people will talk about that win as a "lucky right hand" that landed.
He beats Pacquiao...then what? Rematch with Mayweather? Pfft! No.
Rematch with Cotto at 154? Sure, why not?
Rematch with Pacquiao? Ugh. It would suck for Manny to waste the little amount of fights left in him in a rematch with Mosley. Filipinos will be butthurt as long as Manny doesn't avenge that.
Fight with Martínez? I doubt Martínez can drop comfortably to 154 anymore. But if Martínez agrees to it, then fine by me.Comment
