I have only been with her for just over 4 years so she only knows the absolute basics merely from listening to me talk.

For example she will come out with something suprising like "Did Hopkins become the oldest Champion yet?" or something along those lines.

She also told her uncle I am going to meet Sugar Ray Robinson in a few weeks time in London It was actually Sugar Ray Leonard..
I'd rather keep it separate than dealing with some of that (the bold). The other stuff is cute though- at least she cares to try.

I know if boxing is on, she leaves me alone. She's always trying to get me to delete my fights off the DVR though. She deleted my pwill-maravilla 1 fight last November or so. Last time she ever deleted one of my fights, I can promise you that.

You see all this talk about REAL boxing fans on this site, but mostly it just seems that if you don't support the same fighters they do you are not a REAL boxing fan. Reading threads on here I am definitely not a hardcore boxing fan because I don't watch every single fight that is aired or can be seen on the internet like quite a few people on here. Though I do watch almost every fight card on HBO and Showtime and buy PPV's if they are worthy. I don't watch Friday Night Fights ever and I don't watch fight streams on the web unless it's a PPV I didn't feel like buying. Does this make me a casual fan?

                    casual boxing fan = *****

                    casual PEDs expert = *****

                    casual gambler = *****

                    casual lawyer = *****

From what I gather, the majority of NSB are 'everything in between'.

The kind of people who watch most fights that are known names to the boxing community I.e A casual fan wouldn't watch Berto-Ortiz and probably would know very little about them.

But they also don't know anything about Moreno, Agbeko or Mares and are unaware of who Wonjongkam is.

Whereas for Hardcore fans, boxing effects my lifestyle. If I am out with friends or at an important meeting, I have to make sure I am back for Saturday Night Fights (A low budget fight card in the UK every saturday that has mainly mid card fighters on the main event) And if fights such as Agbeko-Mares gets canceled I am genuinely depressed.

Another example is last year Pacqiauo-Clottey was on the same day as my Girlfriends Birthday. I expected the fight to be an absolute snoozer like it was yet I still chose to watch the fight over seeing her.

That's how I would describe a 'Hardcore fan'.

A casual fan is someone who started watching boxing in 2007-2008 and only knows about Pacqiauo and Mayweather and believes Mike Tyson is the greatest HW champion of all time. And genuinely just knows the basics of the sport and only watch the big fights like Pacqiauo.... or Mayweather...
I fall in the in between category. Though I started watching boxing in 2007, I am far from a casual fan. The guy who got me into boxing taped every fight he watched from the early 90's until 2003 and let me borrow and watch all the tapes. I watch almost all fights on HBO and Showtime as well, and I buy a good amount of PPV. Also I have hundreds of fights in my collection with everything from Jack Johnson to fighters still around today.
